Thanks For Visiting

To there.

You know how celebrities often tell stories of living out of a suitcase? Well, now I know how they feel.  I'm living out of a blue paisley print Vera Bradley duffle bag jumping (actually, not 'jumping'... that would burn too many calories) from hospital to hospital.  The stretcher came for me promptly at 9:00am.  I almost shed a few tears as I was wheeled out... Almost.

I forgot how lovely Princeton is.  It was refreshing to see trees, grass, houses, sunshine, homeless people.  It was also nice to feel some sunshine on my face as I entered and left the ambulance.  It's been 9 days since I was last outside.

It is very different here in comparison to CHOP.  I'm allowed to walk when I want, I don't have resting hours after meals, there's a little more flexibility with food options, and I don't have a one-to-one babysitter following me into the bathroom.  That's right! I get to pee with the door closed! Life is good... for now.

The girls and guys seem very nice.  I look forward to getting to know them, learning from them, and building support systems.

Holy shit.  I almost died. If I had tried to get through another week or two, I wouldn't have made it.  My heart would have given up on me.  Holy. Shit.  I need to process that more.

Anyways, I'm off to watch 17 Again starring the one and only Zac Effron before bed.  I have a 6:00am wake-up call for vital signs, bloodwork, etc.  Thankfully, I've finally gotten used to needles.  I've been poked and prodded at more in the past 10 days than in the past 21 years of my life.

Goodnight, friends.
